“If you look deep enough you will see music; the heart of nature being everywhere music.”
Being in the midst of nature is like the soothing blanket which relaxes me, my mind and soul; nature always has a song to sing when I wanted to listen to its music. Spending some time amongst greenery watching the birds and hear them chirruping is my favorite pastime. I always could not manage going to far off places and I need not go far; every busy city offers an occasional stretch of green. These still existing stretch of greenery in those busy cities still offer an adobe for those common and migratory birds which visit every year,
In this series I want to share some shots that are captured amidst greenery in Kolkata featuring a feathered beauty.
It was 2014 monsoon and just like any other weekend when I have nothing to do, I ended up in Rajarhat with my camera. I really like Rajarhat as this place has something or the other to offer in every season but unfortunately its turning into a concrete jungle. Anyway in monsoon I visit this place to just soak myself in the green all around. Below is such an image of Plain Prinia in Rajarhat, Kolkata..

I have been visiting the Rajarhat site from 2012 and always dreamt of getting a flight shot of the Pheasant-tailed Jacana. Such a gorgeous bird it is with the yellow nape and the fairy tail. But somehow luck didn't favor me and it was in July 2015 that finally I was awarded with the below flight shot.

It was Oct 2013 when I was enjoying the view from window at my parent's home in the afternoon and few green bee eaters were sitting on a nearby perch from morning, with time they got acquainted with me from the morning and by afternoon they were completely ignoring my presence and enjoying themselves. In the afternoon, it rained heavily and these green bee eaters tried to save themselves from the heavy rain. Their style and pose to protect them self attracted me a lot. This resulted in a series of shot below.
